The kitchen & family room were gutted and only 14 square feet was added to move the fireplace out of the footprint of the room. A pass-through wall separating the two spaces was removed and a structural beam installed to support the 2nd floor. Several windows were added to open the space to the expansive rear yard. Furniture grade Amish cabinetry was used throughout. A 3" thick stone slab was cut for the island. Existing beams in the family room ceiling were protected during demolition and re-finished after construction.
