Elmhurst House 2

A classic Chicago Bungalow built in 1935, this house was stripped of its original siding that had been covered in vinyl due to deterioration. The interior was gutted and the basement floor removed and excavated down an additional 8". Drain tile & a sump pit were added as well as an overhead sewer. All mechanical systems were replaced. The only wall to be modified was between the kitchen & dining room, where a large arch was framed to open the kitchen. The pantry was converted to a much needed 1/2 bath. The porcilain bath tub and oak floors are the only original elements retained. Windows were replaced and cement siding was installed to match the original design that was uncovered during demolition.
